Support & Limitations
Roadmap
Where Brewser is headed
Brewser is an evolving runtime. This page collects the bigger things being worked toward — framed as intentions, not promises. For the flip side (what doesn't work yet), see Known Limitations; for shipped changes, see the Changelog.
On the radar
- Wider WebGL 2 conformance. Common paths are solid — major Three.js scenes run on real hardware — and the long tail of conformance is being closed. Reports of Chrome-vs-Brewser differences directly feed this work.
- Unity WebGL 2 exports. WebGL 1 Unity exports work today; WebGL 2 export support is in progress. See Unity WebGL Exports.
- Hardware-accelerated video decode. Video currently decodes in software, which limits high-resolution and next-gen codecs; engaging the console's hardware video block is a goal. See Audio & Media.
- On-console account bridge for the SDK. Making authenticated cloud sync seamless for every app
on the console (so apps don't each need to wire up the token) is designed and in progress. See the
brewser.jsSDK.
Shape the roadmap
The Ideas Board is the most direct way to influence what gets built: post an app or feature idea, upvote others, and watch ideas get picked up and shipped.
